A government is created to help people and control the chaos that can occur during anarchy. In Animal farm it begins with a dictatorship, with the farmer having complete say and the animals having no say or power what so ever. After this they began to create a new government where every one is equal.
This made all of the animals happy. It created a time where animals felt proud of who they where. But as the ones in power realized they could take advantage of the rest of the animals ,due to being much more intelligent, they started to make their own personal lives better. This began by getting the milk and apples and changed to getting their own place to sleep. This is the beginning of government being given space to become corrupt.
A teacher Once told me that freedom isn't taken away in one night but slowly taken bit by bit. The pigs first act of taking away their freedom should of been striked down by the people. As soon as people let go and stop caring about what the government does we have to worry. For with all power comes corruption and without regulation by the people the corruption shall fester and grow.
I like the part at the end where you say that freedom isn't taken away all at once, just bit by bit. If leaders took freedom away all at once it would be really noticeable and the people would rebel. When it's taken away a little at a time at lot of times people don't even realize it's happening.
